Bell Rings in Nursing Graduates
|
Thirteen students are celebrating their graduation this week from the Reinhardt University Cauble School of Nursing and Health Sciences. To commemorate the milestone of completing their undergraduate nursing education, each member of Cohort 9 proudly rang the new bell in front of the Tarpley Education Center on Monday, November 27th.
Adjunct Faculty Rebekah Kemp, MSN, RN says they hope this is the beginning of a new tradition for future groups, “Throughout history, nursing has been a profession of trailblazers, and Cohort 9 is no exception. As indicated by how loudly they rang the bell, Cohort 9 is truly set to make a loud difference in the world of nursing.”
A pinning ceremony on Tuesday evening honored the new graduates with the time-honored tradition that dates back to the 12th century. This rite of passage honors and celebrates each student who has completed their nursing program with a pin, lamp, and pledge.
Graduate Lauren Chastain was honored by receiving the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Student. The DAISY Award for Nursing Faculty, chosen by the students, was awarded to Assistant Professor of Nursing Charla Peoples.
Interim Dean Dr. Linda Morgan told the graduates, “Remember every day you are making a difference in someone’s life, no matter how big or how small. I know each of you will make a difference and do great things and we will be cheering for you along the way, grateful you have chosen to be our next generation of nurses.”
Cauble graduates have an NCLEX pass rate over 10 percent above the state and national averages. One hundred percent of students in all of its cohorts are employed before graduation.
The bell was donated by Reinhardt nurse Gwen Chambers and her sisters, Dr. Sharon Pappas and Gina Mitchell, in honor of Cora Belle Tarpley Holcombe.
Congratulations Graduates!

Price Graduates New Educators
|
The Price School of Education’s Fall 2023 graduates are celebrating the end of one chapter and the start of another. This week, undergraduates Halley Adams, Colby Carden, Alisa Christian, Tanner Carruth, and Jamison Syphore, and graduate students Valerie Christian and Rachael Cory earned their degrees. Each student will be bringing their well-earned expertise with them as they enter the doors of their classrooms as current and future educators.
Before enjoying a luncheon, each student presented their showcase, which told the story of their education and student teaching. Their fellow students and beloved faculty members listened on as the graduates recounted their experiences and highlighted their knowledge and passion for education.
Assistant Professor Karen Hawley says, “The showcases display the hard work and dedication of these students over the years. Price School of Education is very proud of their students and how well they have done and the wonderful comments we have received from their cooperating teachers in the schools.”
Reinhardt wishes the best for this cohort of graduates. We are extremely proud of and honored by these passionate and dedicated educators.
