Isa Frick began dancing at South East Dance Academy at age 7. During her five years studying at SEDA, Isa took classes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and acro, and also joined the Performing Team for her final three years. At 16, Isa concentrated in contemporary, modern, and ballet technique while studying at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in their high school program. During her time at UNCSA, Isa performed in works by José Limón, Merce Cunningham, Ming-Lung Yang, and Juel D. Lane. Most recently, Isa graduated Cum Laude from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance while also minoring in Business: Arts Management. During her 3.5 years at Marymount, Isa performed in works by Darshan Singh Bhuller, Twyla Tharp, Christian von Howard, Jennifer Archibald, Katy Pyle, Andrea Miller, Netta Yerushalmy, and Sekou McMiller, as well as choreographing and presenting her own work. Isa has also found a passion for Archives and archival work for dance foundations and museums, and has grown this interest by completing three internships at renowned dance organizations: Arts Administration Intern at the José Limón Dance Foundation, Processing Archives Intern at Urban Bush Women, and Archives/Audience Engagement Intern at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. Isa is excited to be back home with her SEDA family and share her love of dance to students while working towards her Master of Archives and Records Administration from San José State University. |
