EVERY FAMILY MUST COMPLETE THE ENROLLMENT PACKET IN FACTS

Good Afternoon, Galen!

WOW! What an awesome group of scholars! Parents, YOU are great, too! We had a great first full week and everyone seems to be really happy! As you begin hearing all about the Elements of Depth and Complexity, ask your scholar questions about their day by asking about the icons. (They are on the back of the Agenda Planners!) Ask them about the Big Idea of one of their lessons. You might ask, Tell me one detail you noticed about your day?” or “What is one Scholarly Behavior you would like to improve?”

We will continue our focus on behavior and doing the right thing because "it is the right thing to do!" Help us by talking with your scholars about respect, manners, their behavior, saying Yes Ma’am, please, thank you, and thinking about how they talk to adults and how that differs from how they talk to their peers. Also, we have Jaguar yard signs and car magnets available in the front office for any families needing them.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT

Please note that important changes have been made to our student billing processes. Incidental charges such as after care, school store, field trips, outdoor ed trips, etc., will now be invoiced separately from tuition on the 10th of each month. Payment will be required in full by the end of the month for these billed incidentals. You can pay your incidental invoice by check or cash directly at the School office. You can also pay online by bank account, credit card, debit card, or auto-pay. A 2.95% merchant fee is assessed if payment is made by credit or debit card. These invoices will be sent directly from Facts (no longer from the Finance Department) so please check your spam/junk folder.

You should have already established your tuition payment plan when you completed the required online enrollment packet. You will be emailed certain notifications directly from Facts depending on your tuition payment plan selection. You can log into your Family Portal account, click on the Finance tab on the left navigation bar, and review your tuition and incidental information.

HEAD OF SCHOOL MESSAGE

Scriptures to live positively:

Proverbs 14:30 A relaxed attitude lengthens life; jealousy rots it away.”

Proverbs 4:20-22 Pay attention, my child, to what I say. Listen carefully. Don’t lose (Keep) sight of my words. Let them penetrate deep within your heart, for they bring life and radiant health to anyone who discovers their meaning.

Exodus 20:8-10 Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days a week are set apart for your daily duties and regular work, but the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any kind of work (everyone in your household must rest-yes, every person!). This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you.”

Proverbs 3:5-8 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will direct your paths. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn your back on evil. Then you will gain renewed health and vitality.”

Proverbs 17:22 “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”

We talk all the time with our scholars about positive phrasing. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Tell them what you want them to do instead of what you DON’T want them to do.

The red notations above are positively phrased. Somehow I “don’t” feel right about changing scripture so I stopped. You can get a feel for how it changes the impact. We want our expectations to be very clear with children. Clean your room. Speak kindly to you parents. Treat others with respect.

I was having a conversation with one of the teachers. We were discussing how when something happens to us, so often we take it personally when most of the time it is just a difference of opinion. I told her about The Four Agreements written by Don Miguel Ruiz and Janet Mills. (worth reading)

One of the agreements that goes beautifully with Positive Phrasing is “Be impeccable with your word.” I think this is what the Lord meant when He said, “Speak the truth in love.” I’m working on this in my own life. Join me?

“Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.
For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.”
Ephesians 4:3-4
