THIRD QUARTER
RECAP
We had tons of summer fun at the Chamber this year!
|
As per usual, the Chamber had a lot of fun this summer! We again enjoyed a beautiful day of golf at the
26th Annual Chamber Cup Golf Tournament. This year the tournament returned to an 18-hole format and attracted more
teams than we’ve seen for a few years. The Clambake at Yawgerbrook was just as awesome as we’ve come to expect, both for the food and for the networking.

Welcome 2020 Leadership Class!!!
Once again this year we took the incoming Class of 2020 to the Presbyterian Event and Retreat Center (formally known at the Case Mansion) for a full day Orientation. This new class of twenty-two engaged community members took the task of “getting to know” each other seriously and got right to work.

In spring 2019, the
Auburn Downtown Business Improvement District (BID)
surveyed one hundred and thirty Cayuga Community College students to help decipher what activities & services would attract them to downtown Auburn.
The top three ideas for new businesses & amenities offered downtown were clothing stores, a night club and a dog park. Other interesting ideas included a youth center with a lounge space to do homework, play video games & musical instruments, sing & create art.
With the survey results in hand, BID next approached various business owners to gauge interest in offering student discounts. Very quickly, 16 businesses responded favorably.
