MEET YOUR COUNTY REP, NISSE PODIGO
IN THE BEGINNING, LET THERE BE HORSES ! Nisse grew up riding her bike to the neighborhood barn, sitting all day just to get a chance to pet a horse.Driven by the determination to sit on a horse that fuels all horse lovers, at a young age she managed to secure working student positions for the opportunity to learn and ride. There was never any question where her life would go, working long hours to afford lessons and to keep her own horse.
RIDER
She started her journey jumping and eventing, eventually moving to Pennsylvania as a working student under Bruce Davidson and Sharon Best. There she excelled in taking the younger horses out onto courses, while bringing her own two OTTBâs along to intermediate and advanced level eventing. After a significant injury, with the help of many people, she came to realize that her true calling was in dressage and classical training.
TEACHER
When Nisse returned to Texas, she discovered her second great passion: teaching. This blossomed into a true life-long career that she continues to this day. In the early 2000s Nisse managed a 120 stall boarding barn, while also managing 28 horses and 42 students in her thriving dressage and Eventing program. She ran a very successful schooling show series through the Houston Dressage Society for 8 years, while also holding the Jr. Chair and Vendor position for HDS. Her students have always been her shining achievements, having several students have success in upper level dressage, winning numerous championships in both Eventing and dressage. In 2010, she relocated her business to Caldwell, TX where she remains today.
ALWAYS A STUDENT
Nisse continues her education by attending clinics in equine biomechanics, as well as completing an intensive course on body working and massage for horses as well as passing the âMaster Saddlerâs Association Trained Saddle Fitterâ program with flying colors. Nisseâs passion for finding the right solutions for both horse and rider almost inevitably led her to her current role as County Saddleryâs sales and service representative for the Lone Star State.
