Dear Thornton Creek Families,
We know summer is busy so we're reaching out again to see if we can get your help to support our kids and schools. August is a "quieter" time at the district which means it's a critical moment to have your voice heard before decisions about the future of our school are finalized.
PLEASE TAKE 5 MINUTES THIS WEEK TO SUPPORT TWO ADVOCACY EFFORTS
-
Use this writing template (or your own words) to contact state leaders.
-
Have your child record a short video responding to: "What do you love about Thornton Creek?" (i.e., expeditionary learning, our teachers, staff, and principal, the school building, our community, etc.). You can upload your video here. **NOTE - these videos will be used in outreach to state and local leaders and potentially in social media/grassroots efforts as well. Your sending in your video is consent that we may share to advocate for our school.
We don't have any further updates regarding Principal Kischner's administrative leave. We urge advocacy to support his return to our school.
Time is short before school starts, please advocate now. Thank you for your continued interest in and support of our school and community, and the other schools and communities in Seattle struggling right now. Please reach out if you have questions or concerns that we may support.
In community partnership,
