Ontario and Toronto sign agreement for five SmartTrack stations
The Ontario government and the City of Toronto have signed a revised “Ontario-Toronto Agreement in Principle,” endorsing the SmartTrack stations program, and moving one step closer to construction. The new plan includes five stations along existing GO rail corridors.
Metrolinx is now starting the procurement process for the Finch-Kennedy, St. Clair-Old Weston, King-Liberty and Bloor-Lansdowne SmartTrack stations. Each station will be managed as an individual procurement and contract, and requests for proposals are expected to be released this August and awarded in Fall 2021.

Interlocking plastic bricks could be a ‘game-changer’
Dustin Bowers is scouring the farms of the Atlantic Provinces for recyclable plastic waste to reuse in a line of interlocking plastic bricks and wall panels.

The only virgin additives are inhibitors and stabilizers, says Bowers, CEO and founder of PLAEX Building Systems, based in Hampstead, N.B.

That adage certainly applies to InEight Model, a cloud-based 3D virtual design construction software program that is increasingly being used by contractors.
An earlier adopter of the technology is Calgary-based Graham Construction which started using it in 2020 and has collaborated with InEight, an Arizona-based developer, to enhance the software to more fully meet the requirements of the construction industry.
