Save the Date!

TASC is holding our annual walk fundraiser on Saturday, May 13, 2023. This year's walk comes with a twist: along the 5K route, there will be different color stations where you will be doused with colored cornstarch and your shirt will become a festive souvenir of the event. The course is not timed - it's all about having fun in the community! All abilities are welcome; there will be color-free option available. Registration is $30 per person (children 5 and under are free.) To register, click here or scan the code to the right.

Developmental Disabilities

Awareness Month

Every March, the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD) and its partners collaborate to lead Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM). The campaign highlights how people with and without disabilities come together to form strong communities. It raises awareness of the inclusion and contributions of people with DD in all aspects of community life, and it's a time to explore the work we still need to do to remove barriers.

NACDD's 2023 theme, Beyond the Conversation, focuses on the question, "what next?" With this theme, NACDD plans to highlight change and innovation – what individuals and communities are doing to move past talking to take action on education, employment, accessibility, and more.

Like last year, NACDD has selected artwork featured at local DC studio Art Enables to serve as logo imagery for DD Awareness Month. This year they chose artist Jamila Rahimii. Art Enables is an art gallery and vocational arts program dedicated to creating opportunities for artists with disabilities to make, market, and earn income from their original artwork.
