Dear Members,
It was so good to see our members at last month's meeting. And I'm sure for those that were there, Antoinette gave a great presentation of Club Med and also raffled off a free stay that was won by lucky Liz Henn.
We again have a live meeting on tap for you this month featuring the ever ebullient Barbara Canizio presenting the Globus family of brands portfolio. Hope you will come out and join us for this meeting.
Jeaneane DeCicco, along with the Past Presidents committee have been working hard planning this year's trade show. As we all know, we had to cancel last years show due to the pandemic. This year we are not holding a dinner afterwards as we had to lower the show costs to work with the supplier's budgets. However, we will still be raffling off prizes from both TASC and a few suppliers during the course of the show.
This is the only trade show for Suffolk County and probably the only show taking place on all of Long Island this entire year.
It is being held on Thursday, October 28th at the Holiday Inn at Exit 63 off the LIE. Suppliers may contact Jeaneane DeCicco at jeaneane.decicco@gmail.com to obtain information and book their table, which are starting to sell out, so get yours before they are all gone.
The trade show will be open to all travel professionals in Suffolk County and will be held from 5:30 to 7:00pm. Spread the word in your offices and to your outside agents. We would like to show the suppliers our support and give them a good turnout.
Ladies (& gents), October is Breast Cancer awareness month, please remember to get your mammograms!
Respectfully,
Susan Bonesso
Stop worrying about the potholes in the road and enjoy the journey.

Walt Disney World Resort will debut the immersive Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel and experience on March 1st. General bookings will open on Oct. 28 for the two-night themed stays that include dining experiences and a visit to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the Star Wars-themed land at Disney's Hollywood Studios park.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a new hotel and attraction rolled into one. Packages include accommodations, meals (excluding alcoholic and specialty beverages), valet parking, and activities like lightsaber training, model ship building and a droid-racing competition. During the two-night stay, guests can choose their roles, fighting for the rebel Resistance, training as a Jedi, battling on the side of the First Order, or dodging authorities as a smuggler. Disney revealed sample pricing; a two-night package for a family of 4 will start at approximately $6,000.

The Netherlands has reversed a quarantine requirement for vaccinated travelers, saying that effective Sept. 22, vaccinated travelers from the U.S. and other "very high-risk areas" for Covid-19 no longer have to quarantine. The rule change will particularly benefit river cruise operators, who had been altering schedules to avoid the quarantine requirement for cruisers who were embarking ships in Amsterdam, a popular departure point. Most river lines require passengers and crew to be vaccinated.

A bill approved by the House of Representatives could lay the groundwork for a day when Americans flying home from an international destination won't have to go through rescreening before continuing from their airport of entry to a connecting destination.
The One-Stop Pilot Program Act (H.R. 4094) won House approval by a voice vote on Sept. 29 and has now been received in the Senate, where it will be heard by the transportation committee.
The bill would authorize TSA, in coordination with Customs and Border Protection, to conduct the trial at up to six foreign airports.
As a safeguard, participating airports would have to conduct their screenings using standards that are deemed by TSA to be comparable to U.S. procedures. In addition, passengers arriving in the U.S. would not be allowed to access their checked baggage until arriving at their final destinations.
And, passengers arriving in the U.S. under the pilot program would have to be kept separate from other arriving international passengers until those passengers are screened by TSA.
The bill would authorize the pilot program for up to five years, at which point the Department of Homeland Security, including the TSA, would be required to report back to Congress on its results and on the feasibility of expanding one-stop screening permanently to more foreign airports.
