Hurricane Harvey
Longtime TAAA member Lane Aviation based in Rosenberg, southwest of Houston, has reported their facilities and personal homes have made it through the storm with minimal damage. Nearby areas, however, are experiencing extensive flooding and crop damage.
Grant Lane and his son Logan also report that the FAA has been very cooperative with them to allow ongoing aviation activities despite TFR restrictions boxing the entire Houston area. It appears that corn is already done in the area, rice is in its second crop and the cotton is the real problem. Some cotton has already been bailed but was ruined sitting in water; other bailed cotton is high and dry; some remains to be defoliated, so it is really a mixed bag.
Here is a quote that Logan was kind enough to send along and several pictures taken from one of their helicopters yesterday of the Brazos River Flood Plain in Fort Bend County.
