Holiday Closures, Hours and Delays
City of Thornton offices including Thornton Municipal Court, Infrastructure Maintenance Center (IMC), Arts & Culture Center and Thornton Community Connections will be closed for the Presidents' Day holiday on February 20. Offices will reopen regular business hours on February 21.
The recreation centers and Active Adult Center will be open regular hours.
There will be no trash/recycling delay for Thornton customers.

Comment on Proposed Transportation Projects
The city of Thornton has submitted several projects to the DRCOG Transportation Improvement Program to receive federal or state transportation funds. Thornton has these projects on the list:
- Design of 104th Avenue, Colorado Boulevard to South Platte River
- Design and construction of 124th Avenue Multimodal Improvements from Claude Court to Colorado Boulevard
- Design and construction of Big Dry Creek Trail from 136th Avenue to 144th Avenue
- Design of Colorado Boulevard separated bike facility from 88th Avenue to E-470
- Design of a roundabout at 168th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard
- Design and construction of Thornton Parkway Multiuse Path, I-25 to Grant Street, southside

Get Creative in the Thornton Arts Academy
Register now for youth and adult classes such as drawing, paper-mâché, watercolor, weaving, acting and more. The next five-week sessions start mid-February and run through early May.
New this year is an immersive art workshops lead by artist Chloe Duplessis celebrating Women’s History on March 11. This workshop is open to all ages. Also, check out her current exhibit, Blind Spot, on display in the Oz Gallery.

Stop Into the Oz Gallery to See the Newest Exhibit
Now Through March 24, Oz Gallery, 9209 Dorothy Blvd.
BLIND SPOT is a collection of 20 thought-provoking works of art centering history, privilege, and accessibility. This OZ Gallery exhibition features the latest offerings from noted culture bearer, historian and legally-blind artist Chloé Duplessis. The artist creates images that elevate the unknown, illuminate the forgotten and address the present. In doing so, Duplessis seeks to erode the social constructs that oppress people of color and those navigating disability.

Free Tax Preparation
Now through April 13, Thornton Community Connections,
9471 Dorothy Blvd.
Free tax preparation for income-qualified individuals is available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., by IRS Certified volunteers. Assistance is available first-come, first-served. No appointment needed. The income limit for this service is $58,000. For more information, follow the link.

Apply for the Water Assistance Program
The Thornton Water Assistance Program is available to help qualified low-income individuals and families struggling to pay their water bill. Thornton Water customers and residents living in apartment complexes, homes manufactured home parks, condominiums and townhomes that receive water through Thornton can apply for the program once per calendar year. Those who meet the program qualifications will receive a credit on their water account.
