Foundation of the Union
The
Catholic Apostolate Center
is pleased to celebrate the Foundation of the
Union of Catholic Apostolate
, from which the Center derives its spirituality and apostolic charism. Although founded by
St. Vincent Pallotti
in 1835, the Union of
Catholic Apostolate was declared an International Public A
ssociation of the Faithful by a decree of the Pontifical Council for the Laity on October 28, 2003.
|
|
The
Union of Catholic Apostolate
is a "communion of the faithful who, united with God and with one another in accordance with the charism of
St. Vincent Pallotti
, promote the co-responsibility of all the baptized to revive faith and rekindle charity in the Church and in the world, and to bring all to unity in Christ" (UAC General Statutes, n. 1).
The
Union
unites all who are inspired by the apostolic ideals of
St. Vincent Pallotti
. This includes communities founded by
St. Vincent Pallotti
himself, or those which were founded more recently, as well as lay faithful, committed as individuals, or organized in groups and communities. All form one family under the Union and are dedicated to addressing today's challenges of the universal apostolate.

Upcoming Events with the Center
Living as Missionary Disciples
is a resource that has been released by the
USCCB
which “provides dioceses and parishes and other church ministries with a road map to ‘new paths for the Church's journey’ of evangelization. It is not intended to provide a ready-made program for a parish to follow or a detailed strategic plan to implement. Rather, it offers principles that dioceses and parishes can apply to their efforts in evangelization and missionary discipleship.”

Five Takeaways from #Synod2018 by Kate Fowler
"
For the past few weeks, bishops from across the globe have met in Rome for the
XV Ordinary Assembly of the Synod of Bishops
to discuss
Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment.
This is a momentous time for the Church, one in which she has paused from her work in order to listen and dialogue with a powerful age group in our world today: young people. In imitation of Christ Himself, who sat down during His ministry
and said
, “let the children come to me,” the successors of the Apostles are engaging the young people of the world in order to learn from them, engage with them, and better accompany them on their faith journey."
