IN CELEBRATION OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Sweet Group recognizes the history and contributions of Black professionals in the construction industry. From the first Black AIA Architects, Paul Revere Williams and Norma Merrick Sklareck to many of the Black Owned Minority and Women Owned Contractors, the construction industry would not be what it is today without these pioneers, visionaries and leaders. Sweet is committed to working with a diverse group of contractors and vendors to increase diversity on our construction projects. We will continue to support and develop relationships with Minority & Women Owned Business Enterprises and support our partners, such as the National Association of Minority Contractors, the Women Builders Council and Professional Women in Construction.

COMMITMENT TO OUR COMMUNITIES

On February 1st, 2024, Andre Hibbert and Dante Botti attended the Queens Borough Hall Construction Job Fair held by the NYC Department of Design and Construction. Andre and Dante informed potential candidates of upcoming opportunities. Sweet also connected with Minority/Women Business Enterprises, non-profits, and workforce development companies that aim to diversify and break down barriers in the construction field. It was a great turnout, and we hope to see you at the next one!

If you would like to work with us, please click here to fill out the sub-contractor pre-qualification form.

On February 21st, 2024, Sweet Group of New York with Crescent Consulting and the Minority Business Development Institute (MBDI) hosted an event where over 20 Minority Owned, Women Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses networked and got to meet the team. Sweet Group is thankful for the opportunity to collaborate and work with the MBDI and Crescent Consulting.

NEW YEAR, NEW INSURANCE

As we are more than a month into the new year, Sweet Group recognizes one of the major challenges that contractors will face - Insurance Renewal. Insurance is essential for any contractor to do work while protecting workers and their business from liabilities that may occur. Sweet Group recommends that contractors become familiar with their insurance policies, ensure that they correspond with their trades and/or specialties, and keep complete copies of all insurance policies. It is important to work with your broker to ensure that all policies provide adequate coverage for your employees, business and business partners.
