Sustainability Tip of the Month

Celebrate Summertime and a Plastic Free July!

Want to make your summer celebrations a little more sustainable? There are plenty of ways to tweek your picnic, gathering, or party without giving up a festive atmosphere.

Experiment with some plant based options for your next BBQ. According to the Center for Biological Diversity, 818 hotdogs are eaten per SECOND between Memorial Day and Labor Day! Why not try a delicious mixed grill or go all in with an Extinction Free BBQPlant based diets are not just good for the earth, they are good for us too.

Think outside the bun with these ideas to throw a 4th of July party that doesn't leave you swimming in trash. Going to a festival or fair? "Bring your own cup" is the new BYOB. Grab your reusables and have a good time.

Go all in and take the plastic free pledge this July. Remember, plastic straws last around 600 years after you toss them out. A big price to pay for the 20 minutes you use them.

At the top of your July to do list: Make time to be outside and enjoy activities that are powered by you!
