Meter Upgrade Project:
Home Connect Coming Soon
Ventura Water’s Meter Upgrade Project is well on its way with more than 3,500 meters installed since October 1, 2018. The City’s meter installation contractor will be working in the College and Midtown areas then moving to the west side of Ventura (Ventura Avenue). For more information view the interactive installation map.

Home Connect will be available to all Ventura Water customers in upcoming months. The new online water tracker, Home Connect, will allow customers to view their daily water usage and be notified if a leak is detected at their home. Be prepared by setting up an account through the My Ventura Water online payment system. Once available, the new Home Connect feature will be accessed through this account.

View more information on the project here.

Dear Valued Customer,

I have recently accepted an offer to be the Chief of Facilities Officer at Oberlin College and Conservatory in Oberlin, Ohio.  By the time you read this I will no longer be your Ventura Water General Manager. I leave you in expert hands. Mrs. Susan Rungren, our Assistant General Manager, has agreed to step up and serve as the Interim General Manager.
Ventura Water will continue to be a robust organization focused on customer service, drought and disaster resiliency. Improvements and modernizations will continue to be implemented across our service area. During my time with the organization, we have accomplished many project milestones, putting a priority on efforts that secure water supplies, improve water quality, and support water efficiency. To name a few:

Meter Upgrade Project: In Fall 2018 , the City launched the 3-year capital improvement project to replace manually read meters with advanced meters that automatically relay water usages to the City’s billing system. The project will enhance customer service and improve water savings.

State Water Interconnection Project: The City continues to pursue water supply projects that will expand our water supply portfolio. The State Water Interconnection Project will allow the City to receive imported water from a pipeline connecting to Calleguas Municipal Water District. A preference pipeline alignment has been selected and staff is currently preparing a draft Environmental Impact Review for the project.

VenturaWaterPure: The City is moving forward on the proposed VenturaWaterPure Project which will divert tertiary treated wastewater to a new Advanced Water Purification Facility for potable reuse. Staff is currently preparing a draft Environmental Impact Report for the project.

It has been a fun and pleasurable ride serving the residents of the City of Ventura. I look forward to seeing how this community works collectively to achieve the community’s goals.

Sincerely,
Kevin Brown,
Ventura Water
General Manager
