Saif Published in JAMA Surgery | |
|
Recent research on NIH Funding for Women from Areeba Saif, MD, a resident in our General Surgery Program, has been published in JAMA Surgery.
The paper titled “Current Status of National Institutes of Health Research Funding for Women Surgeon-Scientists,” was co-written by Lindsay A. Demblowski, BS, Andrew M. Blakely, MD, and Martha A. Zeiger, MD.
The results of this study suggest that more academic opportunities need to be created for women surgeon-scientists to narrow the gap in research funding between men and women.
