U.S. Supreme Court Accepts Louisiana Case!
 It's Time the Court Ends Abortion Favoritism
The Supreme Court just elected this morning to hear oral arguments to review Louisiana's 2014 law requiring abortion facilities have admitting privileges at a local hospital!

We expect the oral arguments to be set for early 2020 with a decision coming in mid-2020. And the decision they make will be monumental for the pro-life cause.

We have held since 2014 that abortion facilities should not have loopholes for safety and health standards. If all other outpatient surgical providers have to obtain privileges, why should abortion businesses be exempt? Seems like common sense to us. But abortion businesses run to the court to protect their profit. It is time for the Supreme Court to end abortion favoritism!

We applaud Attorney General Jeff Landry and his Solicitor General Liz Murrill for their commitment to this case, even when others states backed away. Please pray for Liz, as she will be arguing on Louisiana's behalf before the high court!

For a Pro-Life Louisiana,
Benjamin Clapper

P.S. Don't forget to vote next Saturday, Oct. 12!
October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month;
Here Are Some Things You Can Do
The month of October is proclaimed “Down Syndrome Awareness Month,” when we celebrate the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and raise awareness about the genetic condition. It also coincides with the “Respect Life Month,” celebrated in October by the Catholic Church in the United States. It is convenient that these two awareness campaigns fall in the same month. Why? We cannot advocate for individuals with Down syndrome without also raising awareness of how their lives are not being respected in our current culture.

Election Day is Next Saturday, Oct. 12; Do You Know Where the Candidates Stand on Life?
Statewide elections will be held next Saturday. Louisiana Right to Life is a non-partisan organization that does not endorse candidates, and when it comes to elections, our goal is to educate the electorate on where candidates stand on life issues. Find out where candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, House of Representatives and Senate stand on life.

Louisiana Right to Life will share the beauty of life at the State Fair of Louisiana in Shreveport Thursday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 10, and volunteers are needed to help man our booth each day the fair is open. Can you help us share the pro-life message with thousands of others?
Life Chains are held each October throughout the U.S. and Louisiana, as pro-life citizens join together to stand (or sit) along roadways in peaceful protest against abortion. Several Life Chains will be held this weekend, and others later in the month. Will you join in?
40 Days for Life continues through Nov. 3 throughout the country, and three local campaigns are going on simultaneously in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Shreveport. With abortion-on-demand legal in the U.S., we must unite in our local communities to call for an end to abortion. You can still sign up and stand with us to protect women and unborn children from abortion through inter-denominational prayer, peaceful vigil, and community activism.
Chers Bébés: Acadiana's Soirée for Life, is set for Thursday, Oct. 24 at Cathedral Hall in Lafayette, and sponsors and table hosts are being sought. The sixth annual event will feature speaker Claire Culwell, who survived the abortion that took the life of her twin brother. It is sponsored by Acadiana Right to Life and Louisiana Right to Life and benefits the Dr. Zerben Bienvenu and Dr. William Smith Fund for Acadiana Pro-Life Education.
70 percent of Louisianians are pro-life – so it should be easy to pass the Love Life Constitutional Amendment on Nov. 3, 2020! But we must make sure that all our pro-life people are aware and show up to vote. Dedicated volunteers are necessary to make this happen. We need team captains and members to be local resources for the campaign in each parish and community. Let us know if you want to be a part of this grand campaign!
Actor and producer Kirk Cameron, a passionate pro-life and pro-adoption advocate, will be the keynote speaker at the Proudly Pro-Life Gala on Jan. 18, 2020, in downtown New Orleans as we celebrate 50 years of helping mothers and defending life.
