TGP Happenings

Thank you!

The Georgetown Project is so grateful to have been awarded grants in June by two of our long-time partners in early childhood.

Georgetown Health Foundation

Big thanks to the Georgetown Health Foundation for their continued support of The Georgetown Project Bridges to Growth. Their generosity allows us to continue to provide enriching children’s programming, support for parents and caregivers, and high-quality early childhood education training. GHF also helps us to build organizational capacity and to provide emergency housing support for homeless students in GISD.

United Way for Greater Austin

Our friends at United Way for Greater Austin just awarded $475,000 in Community Investment Grants to 20 Williamson County organizations! This funding will support strategic areas of United Way’s work and mission to break the cycle of poverty in our community–and we’re so honored to be a part of it through TGP Bridges to Growth’s work supporting parents, caregivers, children, and early childhood educators. These grants will impact thousands of local families in the areas of education, health, and financial stability.

Smart Beginnings Task Force

Thank you to our Smart Beginnings Task Force Partners! As a part of a planning grant provided by Episcopal Health Foundation, this group has been meeting for the past year, focusing on how best to support families of young children. After six focus groups with over 50 parents of 0-3 year olds, we've learned a lot about what resources and information parents need. We're looking forward to using the insight we've gained from these families to continue to develop programming that supports parents and caregivers and promotes early brain development and attachment in young children.

SYEP is in full swing!

Our TGP Summer Youth Employment Program students are about a month into their internships now, gaining first-time job experience and learning a lot! We are so proud of their hard work!

The Buzz at Bridges to Growth

TGP Bridges to Growth is packing up to join the fun over at the Carver Center for Families! We are looking forward to having a bigger space for our kids' events, parenting workshops, early childhood education trainings, toy library, and an expanded preschool playroom. Our move date is scheduled for early August, so be sure to check our website and Eventbrite to stay up date!

Preschool Fun & Learning

In June, we pretended to go camping at Toddler Time and ¡Hola Amiguitos! Through dramatic play, young children learn new vocabulary, build their imaginations, and build social skills.

GISD Goes Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness

GISD will "Go Gold" this September to raise awareness about childhood cancer and support families in our community who are facing this life-changing diagnosis during National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

You'll hear more about two big events during football season this fall:

EVHS will "Go Gold" on Sept 1 and GHS will "Go Gold" on Sept. 8 during home football games. In addition to supporting a good cause, it's an incredible effort to unite our community: One Town. One District, One Cause: Gold.

For now, one way to get involved is to join the movement and purchase a t-shirt. Details are available here: And while September seems like a long way off, there is a t-shirt order deadline in August, photo shoots being planned and more!
