Right now, reimbursement by the Medi-Cal program for O&P care averages 49 percent of Medicare, one of the lowest rates of any state in the country.

The California Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (COPA) has submitted a budget proposal to the CA legislator asking that Medi-Cal rates to be increased to no less than 80 percent of Medicare, which will provide reasonable reimbursement for O&P care and encourage all providers to accept Medi-Cal.
