Support the Corazon Harm Reduction Initiative: Empower, Educate, and Heal

At the heart of San Antonio, the Corazon Harm Reduction Initiative stands as a beacon of hope and health. Since December 2021, our dedicated team has been tirelessly working to uplift individuals and communities affected by substance use through a comprehensive suite of services that emphasize dignity, health, and empowerment.

What We Do: The Corazon Initiative provides critical harm reduction services through our peer-led street outreach and drop-in center. Our services are designed to address the adverse effects of drug use such as overdose, HIV, hepatitis C, and addiction, reducing the incidence of incarceration and homelessness.

Here's a glimpse of what we offer:

  • Snack packs and Hygiene
  • Syringe Disposal
  • Sterile Drug Use Supplies
  • Naloxone Distribution and Overdose Prevention
  • Comprehensive Peer Recovery Coaching and Case Management
  • Legal Aid, Health Insurance Enrollment, and ID Recovery Services
  • Free Health Screenings and Medical Referrals

Our Impact: Daily, we serve 80-100 individuals at our Drop-In Center, with our street outreach further extending our touch to 60-80 more. This dedication has allowed us to engage over 1,600 unique clients in meaningful, potentially life-saving interactions every month.

Why Your Support Matters: Your donations help us continue to offer these essential services at no cost to those in need. Here’s how your contribution can make a difference:

$50 can cover the cost of transportation for a client to receive treatment.

$100 provides funding for vital prescriptions

$250 supports our street outreach program, ensuring our team can go where they are most needed.

Join Us in Making a Difference: Every donation, big or small, not only supports our operations but also empowers and saves lives. It’s more than a donation; it's a partnership in creating a safer, healthier community for all.

Donate today and be a part of this vital community effort. Your support can change lives and make San Antonio a better place for everyone.

Help us raise $500,000 for our 25th Anniversary!

We hope you will take action to support our “Get 25 to Give $25″ campaign! Together we can move mountains. While $25 dollars may not sound like much, we have done the math and with our collective power we believe we can raise $500,000! Will you help us?

We’re asking every Corazon supporter to encourage and inspire 25 people in their circle to make a donation of $25. We also encourage and welcome greater gifts and matching gifts if anyone has interest in being a multiplier in our “Get 25 to Give $25” campaign. No gift is too small! Please join us in honoring the last 25 years by joining us and ensuring we meet our goal this year. We are so very grateful for you. Please click link below to donate and share this link to inspire others.

Cafe Corazon was founded in the Fellowship Hall of Travis Park Church on Sunday, March 28th, 1999. A group of young disciples had the radical idea of feeding people every Sunday morning and the spirit and practice of unconditional love and justice in action was born. Corazon Ministries San Antonio continues strong 25 years later with nearly 30 employees and an engaged community of volunteers and supporters. The mission has expanded far beyond the Café Corazon at Travis Park Church and into the Grace Lutheran Church where we operate a Resource Hub that includes a Day Center, Harm Reduction, Outreach, and Health Services. Deborah’s House, our sober living home, welcomes 13 women at any given time to continue their sobriety journey and work to find self-sufficiency and peace. We work alongside other critical homeless response system partners in our community to ensure our unhoused have the services they need while we work them through our community resources to a place of more stable living and housing.
