Our History

AMGUARD Environmental Technologies, with a rich history spanning 55 years, rebranded from AMVAC Environmental Products in May 2021. AMGUARD serves the US Public Health, Pest Control, Ornamental & Greenhouse, Golf, Lawn & Landscape, and Consumer markets. Our portfolio company, OHP, Inc., specializes in ornamental, greenhouse, and Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) markets.

We have been a proud Primera Supplier Member for 14 years. Our partnership with Primera has grown even stronger through the contributions of John Smith, who transitioned from AMGUARD’s Vice President of Commercial Operations to Primera’s VP of Supplier Relations.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide our customers with a diverse portfolio of proven chemistries, innovative technologies, and green solutions to keep their businesses strong and growing. We focus intently on our customers, providing solutions to their greatest challenges. Leveraging our global supply chain reach and six North American manufacturing facilities – two of which focus on biologicals – we are expanding our portfolio of patented solutions and enhancing our biological and biochemical innovations. Through these efforts, we are committed to protecting the population from disease vectors, mitigating structural pest damage, creating healthy outdoor living spaces, and maintaining outdoor sports and recreation venues.

Our vision is to be the industry's leading brand for innovation. From our Research Triangle Park headquarters, we discover, develop and commercialize via our four technology platforms: Core, Dragonfire, Extend, and Merlin:

Core: Patented technology platform that creates “best in class” safe & effective pest control innovations
Dragonfire: novel bioherbicide development platform
Extend: Patented combinations of our Core technologies with proven synthetic compounds to create dual MOA products for resistance management and enhanced performance
Merlin: Discovery and development of novel new compounds to meet the needs of evolving markets
