We had our May Sunny’s Way Assemblies!

Last month students were focused on being responsible. We practiced being responsible with our belongings, our environment and each other. Congratulations to our students of the month who exemplified the Sunny Way through their responsible words and actions: 

Kindergarten: Maya, Ryan, Amelia, Audrey and Santi

1st Grade: Lauren, Falcon, Henry, Zylah, Ayden, Amina, Morgan, Siidou, Divit, Kaner, Sebastian, Dallin, Keegan, Nolan and Presley

2nd Grade: Winslow, Kunsang, Milano, Ian, Graham and Ky

3rd Grade: Teddy, Phoenix, Chase, Jordan, Evan, Sam, Oliver, Keira, Raymond, Solin, Brooks, Harshal and Ruth

4th Grade: Val, Epik, Julia, Greta, Lucas, Callen, Decker, Evalynn and Kylie

The PTA would like to give a HUGE thanks to Mr. Wilfrid and "The N'achos" for donating their time and talents for our first annual Concert on the Lawn!

What a FUN night!

Thanks to all of the families and surrounding neighbors that made it out for a night of hanging out, dancing, singing and playing.

We raised just over $3,000 to put in our fund that will go directly to the back playground. As always, we appreciate the support of the SSR community!

Dear Sunset Ridge Families, 

We sure had a good time at the concert last Friday! Thanks to all of you who came out for the fun, donated to the PTA, and have been supporting the school all year long :-) 

We're looking at some end-of-year data these days, and there are some real highlights, including; 

1) Every indicator on the Family and Staff Engagement Surveys was trending upwards

2) Every indicator with academics on the Star assessments, from growth to achievement, was trending upwards

While each child's story is unique, these general trends are indicative that we're on the right track!  

What a great way to wrap up the year :-)

From the GCMS PTO

The PTO will have a limited supply of Glacier Creek tee shirts ($15) and hoodies($25) available for purchase with cash or credit card at Future Fifth Grade Night - May 21st at GCMS 6-7pm. Please stop by our table in the Cafetorium before or after the night's events if you are interested.  

We would also like to share our recently released  PLAYGROUND DESIGN PRESENTATION with you as you get ready to join our community! Please keep an eye out for future communications from Glacier Creek regarding the "Playground Expansion Project" as we work to bring this project to life.   

Rescue and Reuse Art Supplies

At the end of the school year, kids come home with half used glue sticks and another set of crayons that often gets thrown out or goes unused. This year, we want to help save our planet and give a second life to these materials! This means less junk for you and more art fun for our kids and staff. Students will be able to donate school supplies including: crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, sharpies, and dry erase markers. Of course this is entirely optional and you can certainly choose to have your child bring their supplies home. You may have exciting projects planned for the summer! Either way, as a school we are bound to extend the life of these supplies and help protect our earth by reducing waste.
