Dear Britt,

I am inviting you to join me this Sunday at 3:30 PM for our annual Leadership Summit. You might say, “Should I go? I am not a leader at First Baptist.” The answer is yes! You should definitely come to our Leadership Summit. This event is for all volunteers as well as anyone who wants to get plugged into First Baptist.

Our event begins with breakout groups, where you can find out ways to serve or get plugged into a group. We will then have a time of connection and refreshments where you can meet other people who are plugged in at First Baptist. Finally, I will share some vision for this next season for our church including... drum roll please... an update on our building campaign. That's right, we are finally starting to re-energize our building campaign (formerly known as Vision 2020) after a season of transitions. I cannot wait to share how God is going to lead us through this project.

See you Sunday!

August Prayer Focus

Pray for Casey and Judith B. and their family serving independently in the Philippines who have answered the call to minister in a country struggling with the crisis of abandoned or heavily neglected children due to poverty. Pray for them as they endeavor to bridge the gap for these children by presenting Jesus Christ as their hope and salvation and by providing temporary shelter and food.

.          Pray for God’s favor as they partner with the local government to find and provide temporary shelters for them. Pray that they acquire the proper paperwork and maintain good relationships with government officials.

.          Pray that their Certificate of Occupancy for a building they have designated as a temporary shelter will be approved this week, so that they can finish up on renovations and officially open the house for children under the care of the government as the public school year begins the end of this month.

The Bridge is a great place to serve!
Visit our website at www.thebridgeatgreenstreet.org and look for the Orientation video to learn how you can join The Bridge Volunteer Team.

Proverbs 3:9-10 (ESV) says, “Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.”

God’s word teaches us that when we honor Him first with our resources, He will bless us. This blessing is not just to provide for our needs and even better it allows us to give back more to His Kingdom.

Your tithes and offerings to First Baptist allows the many ministries to keep going strong in order to reach more people for Christ. Thank you for your generous stewardship by faithfully giving of your firstfruits so we can see lives changed for eternity in Spartanburg and around the world.

As you think about your financial stewardship, here are a couple of the many options you can consider:

·     You can always give online, but if you are unable to attend on Sunday morning and don’t wish to give online, you can mail your gift to 250 East Main St. Spartanburg, SC 29306.

·     You can also stop by the church during office hours throughout the week and securely leave your gift in the drop box at the welcome center.

We plan to do this with a variety of avenues, primarily through an app called Strava! This is a social media app for recreation activities and we have a group under the name "FBS Running"! Using the Strava app you will be able to like and comment on activities of other people in the group, as well as upload your own workout to the group (which can be done automatically).  Please contact us with any questions that you may have about FBS Running!
