It’s no secret that technology has given us a greater means of connecting with one another worldwide. Even so, many of us are feeling more and more isolated, and frustrated that so many seem to be more interested in engaging their phones and laptops than in meaningful conversation. In fact, many social scientists now claim that we are experiencing an epidemic of loneliness, one that may have many serious health consequences.

Could it also be possible that our spiritual practices are aggravating this feeling of separation? Perhaps it’s time to cast aside the idea of spiritual growth as an exclusively solitary practice. Please join Rev. Su Choy as she takes a closer look at a model of spiritual development whose power is often underrated: the interpersonal journey.

The forgiving love of Jesus Christ flows through my mind and heart, and I am free.

I am aware of the presence of love within me, healing and restoring my soul.

I let go of any feeling of anger, resentment, or hurt. I am a spiritual being on a spiritual journey, and no person or experience can keep my good from me.

I release you to God, and I bless you on your way. I forgive you as I am forgiven. When we meet again, it will be in the spirit of love.
