… and sadly, the much loved 100 year old landmark Silver Maple tree that offered generations of townsfolk and tourists, a meeting place and shelter from sun & rain, has come down. Time & age had taken it’s toll. Arborists advised it be removed in the interest of safety. | |

Tomorrow, February 15th at Capital Center for the Arts in Concord.
Multi-faceted singer/songwriter A.J. Croce is hitting the road again in celebration of two more of his father Jim Croce’s legendary albums, 1973’s Life and Times and his final release, I Got A Name, in addition to songs from You Don’t Mess Around With Jim. The Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary show features a legendary band (including drummer Gary Mallaber, bassist David Barard, guitar/violin James Pennebaker) and a moving multi-media presentation accompanying Jim’s songs (which on the previous tour included memorable hits, “Operator (That’s Not the Way It Feels)”, “Time in a Bottle,” and others). It was fan-demand for more, and the camaraderie that A.J. felt with the audience, the players, and the connection to his father’s timeless music that inspired A.J. to embark on the 50th Anniversary tour for 2023. “The audience reaction has been so great,” says A.J. “The shows we did last year were not only met with a huge response, but I learned so much about what works and what resonates, we knew we had to keep going.” GET TICKETS

What’s the Problem with Road Salt?
Most ice melting products contain chloride which is:
- Toxic to aquatic life
- Damaging to plants
- Corrosive to vehicles and bridges
- Harmful to pets
Choose lake-friendly methods to manage ice on your property and reduce your impact at the same time.
CHLORIDE FREE ICE CONTROL PRODUCT INFORMATION
When purchasing ice control products try to read the labels carefully. The products that have the least impact on our water resources do not contain chloride. Pet safe does not mean it is good for the lake. Below are a few chloride-free products recommended by LSPA.

Improv for Caregivers
Wednesday, February 21
1pm - 2:30pm
Caregiving for someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia can be overwhelming, lonely, and extremely difficult. The New London Barn Playhouse and Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice are supported in part by a grant from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts to offer FREE monthly events that connect caregivers going through similar situations and help them navigate different circumstances. The sessions combine insights from health care professionals with improvised scenarios where actors navigate common caregiving situations onstage. The series aims to help caregivers develop new communication skills, strategies to cope with stress, flexibility in relationships, and an understanding of loved ones’ changing perspectives. Attendees are welcome to participate in discussions and scenarios, or they may remain an observer. Learn More
