Safety First



Safety is priority number one for a great experience on the water. The Tennessee River is an active landscape shared by commercial and recreational users, and you have an important part to play in promoting boating safety on the river. The National Safe Boating Council offers "Boat On Course," a series of educational videos that teach basic navigation rules for paddlecraft as well as powerboating and sailing. Participants can watch at their own pace and test their knowledge after each video. We encourage you to get familiar and confident in recreating safely on the water. Remember, the best experience is a safe one!

Have you seen the conceptual designs for seven of our communities enrolled in the Tennessee RiverTowns Program? As part of the Community Planning Initiative, we partnered with local residents and leaders to envision vibrant, scenic riverfronts along the Tennessee River.
