Guaranteed Summer FUN!
By next week, most students will be out of school and ready to kick off their summer. It's great to have a plan to keep youth active and engaged in outdoor activities. 

The First Tee of Cleveland's Program Director, Coach Brian McFarland, says:  "What a great way to enjoy golf, build life skills and make new friends! The First Tee of Cleveland is the only activity based youth character development program that has a 5 year independent research study that shows the curriculum have a positive impact on  grades, self- confidence and social skills - all seamlessly delivered through a fun and impactful  curriculum." 

It's not too late to sign up for The First Tee of Cleveland's Summer Sessions, June 4 - August 4.  Click on the following locations to view the schedule information on how to register:   Washington Park in Newburgh Heights, Briardale Greens in Euclid, The Links in Olmsted Township and Windmill Golf Center in Macedonia. 

There is no need to have golf clubs; we provide everything needed including a First Tee polo and hat. The misconception is that golf is hard, expensive and takes too long. Our program is fun, inexpensive -- (in fact, we will not turn any child away that can embrace our program) and concise.  

We expect to serve 1,200 participants this year. Have your child be one of them! We have sessions for ages 6-18. We have top coaches and more than 75 trained and background-checked volunteers to keep our participant / coach ratio at an average of 6:1.

In addition, there are many youth full-day golf camp options across Northeast Ohio that have components of The First Tee through our partnership program. Washington Golf, Ridgewood in Parma, and The Links in Olmsted Township.

SUMMER GOLF CAMP OPTIONS:
The First Tee of Cleveland and Cleveland Metroparks team up to offer Junior Golf Camps

Cleveland Metroparks and The First Tee of Cleveland have teamed up to offer junior golfers a fun way to learn the game of golf and improve their character by exploring The First Tee's Nine Core Values . Join your friends at Washington Golf Course for any of the week-long Golf Camps throughout the summer. Sign up for multiple weeks and improve your skills.

Every day is fun and active! Participants will explore all aspects of Cleveland Metroparks beautiful golf course, while experiencing The First Tee's unique curriculum. Campers will experience games and activities off course, as well as on course play. Campers will be taught techniques, rules and etiquette of golf; along with learning the history of the game. Snacks will be provided; golfers should bring a lunch.

Ages: 8 to 17
Time: Each camp runs Monday thorough Friday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Cost: $200 / week; additional $25 / week for extended day care*
Dates: June 11-15; 18-22; 25-29; July 9-13; 16-20; 23-27; July 30-Aug. 3; Aug. 6-10
Extended day care is available. Golfers can be dropped off as early as 8:00 am and picked up as late as 5:00 pm. If interested, please see the extended day care option when registering.

The Links Junior Golf Academy Summer Programs
The Links Junior Golf Academy is designed to offer your child the fundamentals of golf, swing basics, proper etiquette, a taste of competition and FUN! Located at The Links Golf Course in Olmsted Township, the program is designed by Northern Ohio PGA Junior Golf Award winner Danny Panek and includes instruction from The First Tee of Cleveland's Program Director, Coach Brian McFarland.

 Each Tuesday or Thursday from mid-June through mid-July, programs will take place from 9-10 am, 10-11 am and 11-noon. Maximum group size is 36 students. The program includes six weeks of one-hour clinics, one day a week, followed by 9 holes of golf each day. Lunch is included.  The program is designed for youth 8 and older.

 Cost:   $195 (includes range balls, greens fees, one hour of instruction per week for six weeks, and lunch each session.

Ridgewood Junior Golf League
Ridgewood Golf Course in Parma offers a Junior Golf League administered by PGA Pro Dave Chuba. This entry level program designed to introduce new players to the on course golf experience starts June 12th and goes through August 7th. Assessments on skill level will take place the first two weeks.
