At Helen Arts & Heritage Center, we love to support the Veterans with 2 FREE Art Workshops a month on the 1st and 2nd Thursdays from 10a-12p.

$30/session, or

The HAHC Pottery Studio is a well-equipped studio that is shared by a diverse group of ceramic artists and potters. Whether you're an experienced potter looking for studio space or a beginner interested in learning how to hand-build or wheel-thrown, HAHC Pottery Studio has everything you need to start working with clay. The Pottery Studio is managed by local artist, Alyson Webber.

We offer a variety of classes from beginner wheel throwing to hand building classes. If there is a technique that you are interested in. contact us at the arts center.

Happy Fathers' Day

Any man can be a Father, but it takes a special man to be a Dad - Happy Fathers' Day to all the Dads.

Father's Day

Breakfast Treat

Blueberry Ricotta Cheese Squares

Batter Ingredients

1 c of all-purpose flour

3/4 c of sugar

1 1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/3 c milk

1/4 c of shortening

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla

Middle Layer

1 1/2 c blueberries

Sprinkle Blueberries over batter

Topping Ingredients

2 eggs

1 1/4 c ricotta

1/3 c sugar

1/4 tsp vanilla

You will need a 9x9x2 baking dish/pan

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 deg.

Batter Mixing

In a small mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar baking powder and salt. Add the milk, shortening, egg and vanilla. Beat with electric mixer on low until combined. Beat on medium for 1 minute. Pour batter into a greased 9x9x2 baking pan/dish and spread evenly.

Middle Layer

Sprinkle Blueberries over batter mix

Topping Mixing

In a medium bowl. lightly beat 2 eggs with fork. Add ricotta cheese, sugar and vanilla. Mix until combined. Spoon topping mixture over top of blueberries until evenly spread.

Baking Directions

Bake in 350 oven for 55-60 minutes.

Let cool, top with with cream (optional) and enjoy! Cover and store in refrigerator.

Optional - add about 1-2 tsp of fresh lemon zest to the blueberries. And you can use mixed berries too for this recipe.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do. I especially enjoy making this recipe with market fresh blueberries.

Heart for the Arts Fundraiser

HAHC is having it Annual Fundraiser on Thursday August 15, 2024 from 5-8pm at the beautiful downtown Helendorf River Inn & Suites.

Accepting Donations for HEART FOR THE ARTS Fundraiser

In order to have a successful fundraiser we need your help and donations.

We are looking for the following donations:

Business donated items and/or gift certificates
Artwork from Artists
Monetary Donations

Attention HAHC Artist:

With your donation - you will qualify to have one of your Gallery Items to sell at our fundraising event at the Mini HAHC Gift Shop.

Helping Hands - we need volunteers in the following areas:

2-3 Volunteers for Decorating Crew
2 Volunteers to Check in Guest
1 Volunteer to work the Mini HAHC Gift Shop
3-4 Volunteers for Cleanup Crew
2 Volunteers to operate the refreshments/beverage station
1 Volunteer to be our Auctioneer (I am hopeful that Mully would be so kind and be our auctioneer again this year!)
