Meal Plans and How They Work

Granville Towers offers 3 different meal plans that are only good at the Agora, our on-site dining facility:

2 Weekly Meal Plans
14 meals per week with 10 guest meal passes per semester
The Unlimited meal plan with 20 guest meal passes per semester

1 Block Meal Plan
120 block meal plan per semester

Please keep in mind that each meal within your meal plan is more like an "entry" into the Agora, rather than what you actually consume. Every time you enter the Agora, you will need to swipe your Granville Towers ID card, which houses your meal plan. Each swipe removes one meal from your meal plan. Once inside the Agora  you can eat/drink as much as you would like.

Regardless of whether you have a weekly meal plan or a block meal plan, the swipe reader will notify you of how many meals you have left. You can also visit the Business Office (located on the West Side of the Agora) to check how many meals you have remaining.

Weekly Meal Plans:
Your week begins every Sunday. If you go over your allotted meal number during the week, the system will automatically take a meal from your guest meal plan. Once you have used up all of your guest meals, the system will notify you that you have run out of meals. At this point you will be prompted to visit the Business Office where you can pay for an individual meal ($8 for Breakfast, $9 for Lunch, or $10 for Dinner) or upgrade your meal plan (which will require a revised contract that must be signed by the resident). If you do not use all of your meals within a week, those extra swipes do not roll over to the following week.

Guest Meals Associated With Weekly Meal Plans:
Each of our weekly meal plans have "extra" guest meals associated with them. A resident with a weekly meal plan can use these guest meals for their parents, siblings, friends from home, friends from campus, or they can keep them for themselves. The guest meal passes are per semester. At the beginning of the spring semester, they will start over again.

Block Meal Plan:
Residents with the block meal plan begin with a "block" of meals each semester. Every time they enter the Agora, the system will remove one (1) meal from their block of meals until they are left with zero. There are no set limits, per se, as to how many times a resident can enter the Agora per week with the block meal plan. For example, they can eat 9 meals one week, 16 meals the next, 4 meals the following week, and so on until they have run out of meals. If you run out of meals, you will be prompted to visit the Business Office where you can pay for an individual meal ($8 for Breakfast, $9 for Lunch, or $10 for Dinner) or upgrade your meal plan (which will require a lease amendment that must be signed by the resident).

Guest Meals Associated With Block Meal Plans:
Block meal plans do not come with "extra" meals per semester for guests. Guests can, however, be swiped in under one of your "block meals." We encourage residents to be careful of how many guests they are swiping in under their block meal plan because, in essence, that guest is using one of your meals.
How to Make a Meal Plan Change

Now that you know how meal plans work at Granville Towers, here is how you can change your meal plan:

Residents can increase their meal plan before the start of the semester by initiating a meal plan change request with the Leasing Office. Residents who wish to reduce their meal plan may do so by submitting a meal plan change request before the following due dates. The deadline for decreasing your meal plan before each semester is June 30th for the Fall semester and November 30th for the Spring semester.

If you would like to make a change to your meal plan, please email salesgranville@edrtrust.com with your desired meal plan and payment schedule (monthly/semester). We will then email you a lease amendment for the student to sign and return back to us.
