 Rain and Heat Is It a Bad Thing? We certainly have had more than our share of rain this summer, and when it's not raining it is blistering hot. Actually, for many of our plants, such as the crepe myrtle, it is the ideal combination. Those of us that have lived here for a while can certainly remember many summers with prolonged drought and watching everything in the landscape burn up. So, while it may not make us the most comfortable, be happy for small things (like having to cut your grass once a week). .
