Withdrawal Policy for Recreation Activities other than Day Camps

Once a participant is registered for a Recreation activity (excluding our day camps), a request to withdraw and receive a credit will be granted when the request is received in writing prior to the start of the activity. There is a $20 administrative fee per section for credits. Should someone withdraw from an activity after it has begun, the credit will be pro-rated based on the time remaining in the activity when the withdrawal is requested.

The general policy of the Recreation Division is that we do not issue refunds for a Recreation activity unless it has been cancelled. Registrants assume full responsibility for any changes in their personal life, which may affect their ability to participate. Please read all registration information carefully and contact us prior to registering if you have any questions.

General Activity Waitlist Policy other than Day Camps

Once maximum enrollment has been reached for activity registration, a participant may elect to be placed on a waitlist. Should additional registration spots become available, those on the waitlist will be contacted in numerical order. Once contacted, if the person is still interested in enrollment in the activity, they will have two business days to make payment for the activity fee. If complete payment is not made within two business days, that person will be removed from the waitlist and the next person waitlisted will be contacted. If the waitlisted person is no longer interested in the activity, then the next person on the waitlist will immediately be contacted. Additionally, if the waitlisted person declines to respond to the Department of Parks & Recreation within two business days, the next person waitlisted will be contacted.

Withdrawal Policy for Day Camps

This policy will be enforced for those who wish to withdraw from Adventurers Camp, Kamp Kairphree, and Music and Art Camp. Written withdrawal request prior to June 1 will be provided a full credit (100%) for the fee paid, less a $20 administrative fee per section. Written withdrawal request June 1 or after, but prior to the first day of camp section, will be provided only half credit (50%) for the fee paid and less a $20 administrative fee per section. Written withdrawal request June 1 or after, and after the camp section has begun, will be provided half credit (50%) for the fee paid, also pro-rated based on the remaining time in the section, and less a $20 administrative fee per section.

Waitlist Policy for Day Camps

The General Activity Waitlist Policy applies to the day camps of Adventurers Camp, Kamp Kairphree, and Music and Art Camp; however, there will be a fee of $20 assessed to be placed on the waitlist for each section of camp. Should the participant be taken off the waitlist and enrolled in the camp section, the $20 fee will be applied to the camp section fee. Once contacted, the person will have two business days to pay the balance due for the camp section. If the person remains on the waitlist and is not enrolled in the camp, there will be NO refund and NO credit for the $20 fee. This is to ensure that only those seriously interested in attending the day camp will place themselves on the waitlist.

Non-Discrimination and Event Accessibility

The Town complies with all applicable federal and state laws regarding non-discrimination, equal opportunity, affirmative action, and providing reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities. If you require an accommodation to participate, please contact the Commissioner of Human Services at 203-622-3800 or demetria.nelson@greenwichct.gov
