Summer Reading Registration opens June 1st! | |
A Message From the Director
Greetings!
Exciting things are happening this summer at the library! The construction phase of the Adult Area renovation is complete and the adult collections are back open. We are eagerly awaiting new furniture, end panels on the stacks, and new signage expected to arrive in the coming weeks. If you’re looking for a new book to read or DVD to watch, come in and browse the collection. Looking for a little nostalgia? Check out our new Retro TV DVD collection!
Adventure Begins at the Library is the theme for this year’s Summer Reading Program. Sign up yourself or your little ones beginning June 1 and make reading for fun an adventure this summer. The annual Summer Reading Kickoff Carnival is June 18, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. This year’s carnival will be held entirely outside in the city complex parking lot. New this year is a bounce house on the lawn. Returning this year are carnival games, free popcorn, and the ever-popular rock wall!
Some exciting NEW programs are coming this summer as well. Ask Away Saturdays give patrons a chance to ask staff any technology or computer question and get help with writing and research projects. As part of the Adult Craft Class Series we are offering Guided Painting. Teens can join our new Teen Manga Book Club and homeschool families can join the Homeschool June Bugs craft program.
There’s so much to do this summer, especially at the library. We look forward to seeing you soon!
