Summer Reading Adventure 2024

For readers of all ages

Now - Aug. 10


Join Carlsbad City Library’s summer reading program for all ages from now through Aug. 10. This summer, for every 20 minutes read, readers will be entered into a weekly drawing for fantastic rewards. The more you read, the more entries you earn. In addition, all locations will host special events throughout the summer, as well as regular weekly programming.   

 

Here’s how you can participate: 

 

Register – Visit our website or use the Beanstack Tracker app for Android or iOS. Log into your account or create one if you are a new reader. Sign up for the Summer Reading Adventure challenge that matches your grade or age. 

 

Record - Log your reading and be entered into a weekly drawing for every 20 minutes read.

 

Rewards - Readers of all ages can record their reading and be entered into a weekly raffle. The more minutes read, the more chances readers have.

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention has been shown to improve balance and mobility and reduce the risk of falls. People of all ability levels are welcome. This class can be conducted from a seated or standing position.


No registration is necessary; participants can join at any time but are encouraged to join early to gain the full benefits of the program.

Join us for a wonderful opportunity to support the Carlsbad City Library by participating in the Friends Summer Silent Auction at the Dove Library. Explore and bid on the terrific items offered at the auction during regular bookstore hours.

 

Bid on "Tales of the Angler’s Eldorado" by Zane Gray; Eleanor Roosevelt’s signed autobiography; Surfing Magazine, 1988 and 1998; Henry M. Stanley’s 2-volume set, "In Darkest Africa"; Georgia O’Keefe’s "100 Flowers"; "The Seven Lady Godivas" by Dr. Seuss; and other exciting offerings.


The auction ends at 6 p.m. Monday, June 24 and no bids may be changed after that time. You need not be present to win and winners not present will be notified. Materials not collected at the auction will be available for pickup in the bookstore through July 1.
