Verge received a grant!

Thank you to the Community Endowment of Lexington, an endowed fund of the Foundation for Metrowest, for awarding Verge a grant to help us build capacity to include more kids and families in the community! We are so grateful!

Just as exciting...this was also a special opportunity for our summer intern, Dimitri, who is a former Verge volunteer and Lex. HS runner, now an Endicott College Business Management student, to gain experience speaking and networking by representing Verge at the reception! So proud of him - he did great! It's been a real honor to get to work with him this summer - he applies himself, takes ownership, is open to feedback and constructive criticism, learns from his experiences, steps outside of his comfort zone while maintaining his boundaries (which is not an easy thing!). I've had several opportunities over the years since starting Verge in 2015 to mentor and see youth grow which has been an unexpected and wonderful side effect of the running program.

Verge is about helping youth by guiding them and giving them opportunity as a part of their own journeys to find their voices, their paths, their places - being confident and proud and able to express themselves so they can shine. It's amazing to be able to be a spark for so many on and off the track.

We look forward to using this grant from the Community Endowment of Lexington to help Verge shine brighter so more youth can shine!
