Summer Memories!

Summer at Loveland Center in Venice has been filled with making memories through learning & expanding skills, trips to the beach, making treats as well as engaging with many community groups through tours and visits! Jamie K. and other participants were able to play firefighter for a few minutes by spraying the fire hose with the Sarasota County Firefighters when they were visiting Building D to educate on stranger danger.

Trying new things!

Venice Participant Nick has been much more active in the program this past month. He has been involved in music and dance. Nick played the piano and danced on stage in the clubhouse! Loveland Center staff is very happy to see Nick participate in these activities. So proud of you for trying new things, Nick!

Learning life skills through the arts! The Loveland Center Visual Arts program participants, Brandon and Elise, are learning life skills through creating art & learning skills needed to be an entrepreneur. Interested in supporting our awesome artists with disabilities? The Loveland Creates participants will be making art for pop-up booths prior to the store's grand opening later this year.

Stay tuned for the Loveland Store's grand opening!

Our Loveland Creates program participants continue to create items to sell in the upcoming Loveland Store! They showcase their skills and talents by creating unique items such as mosaic coasters, canvas art, glitter stickers, and more. These items are not only beautifully crafted but also reflect the creativity and individuality of each participant.

The Loveland Players' performance of The Incredible Bulk at Bikini Beach is coming August 24th-27th! We are so excited and can't wait for you to come to the upcoming performance! We are grateful to the Skinner Family for offering the Skinner Match. Help us reach it by opening night.

Your gift will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $60,000 and make an impact in the following ways:

  • Loveland Venice has designated Building A as its Performing Arts Center, featuring a black-box theatre, backstage, lobby, dressing room, and dance and motion studio.
  • The Suncoast Foundation Storage Building will serve as a Scene Shop, with plans to put it under air to preserve sets and props and provide comfort to our volunteers.
  • Building E will transform into an Art Gallery, Studios, and The Loveland Store for individual creativity, long-term projects, and business development. Shows and sales will showcase Loveland entrepreneurs’ skills and talents.
  • Our Theatre Manager and Art Instructor have big plans for theatrical performances, art/jewelry shows, and community engagements.

We need your help to reach our goal of $120,000 (your $100, $500, $1,000 annual gift + the Skinner Match of $60,000).
