We have hired a new company, Arrow Security, to staff our public safety program. The 10-person team of Public Safety Officers (PSOs), which includes some new and familiar faces, started this week. These uniformed, well-trained officers are keeping a watchful eye on Lincoln Square seven days a week; they are a reassuring and welcoming presence and serve as a deterrent to crime. They are the eyes and ears of the NYPD, calling for assistance when necessary and helping the public by answering questions and giving directions. They also report street conditions, count pedestrians, and even find lost property that we return to their rightful owners. Make sure to say hello when you see a PSO. | |

In the warmer months, streets are often closed due to local festivals, parades, and fairs.
On Saturday, June 8, there will be a single-block street fair scheduled on the east side of Broadway between W 60th and W 61st Street from 10:00am until 6:00pm. DOT does not have any details about traffic regulations or street closures as of today.
On Sunday, June 9, the National Puerto Rican Day Parade will take place from 44th Street to 79th Street along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. For street closure information, visit DOT’s weekend traffic advisory. Expect delays on Sunday.

NYC Department of Transportation offers an optional online, searchable directory of companies that provide design, fabrication, installation, removal, storage, and/or leasing/rentals to support compliant outdoor dining cafes. This resource may serve as a one-stop shop for restaurants looking to build roadway or sidewalk cafes. It is not a requirement for the Dining Out NYC program. The list of companies will grow, and the City aims to include products and custom designs in the near future. Restaurants may choose companies or products at their own discretion.
