Our New Executive Director - A Purr-fect Transition

It has been three months since Pam joined Pets In Need as the Executive Director. Pam's expansive background in social work, mental health, and serving vulnerable populations has been a resource and her leadership experience has seamlessly translated to her work at PIN. Pam’s extensive networking and operational acumen are already making a significant impact. She is dedicated to advancing our mission and expanding our reach in the community. "With a solid foundation and a track record of excellence established by the team and PIN founder, Ann Ramsey Hill, we are well-positioned for the future," shares Pam.

Honoring the Legacy of Mara McCalmont

We fondly remember Mara McCalmont, a cherished member of our community whose impact spanned over three decades as a dedicated small business owner and gifted artist in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mara's passion for both art and animals shone brightly through her thousands of commissioned pieces and her unwavering support for local animal welfare initiatives.

Mara's generosity knew no bounds. Her contributions to Pets In Need of Greater Cincinnati, Inc., where she not only created our logo but also donated numerous artworks displayed around the clinic, exemplify her deep commitment to making a difference. Beyond her artistic endeavors, Mara found solace in nature, whether tending to her garden or marveling at a sunset. Even in her passing, Mara's legacy of compassion and generosity continues to resonate within our community.

Heroes for Pets In Need

We’re excited to give a shout-out to our amazing friends at Lewis Animal Hospital! They are true heroes when it comes to helping animals in need, and we are so grateful for their support. Whether it’s providing our routine x-rays or just being there for our furry friends, they’ve always got our backs.

Most recently, Lewis Animal Hospital assisted with a special case: Kiko, a surrendered Husky. Kiko is diabetic and blind, requiring special attention and care but she is a social sweetheart. Thanks to the exceptional team at Lewis Animal Hospital, Kiko was able to be boarded there and medically monitored in preparation for a new home. We cannot thank Lewis Animal Hospital enough for all they do.

A big thank you to all our rescue resources working tirelessly to find Kiko her forever home, you are our heroes too! For anyone interested in meeting Kiko, call us at 513.761.7387 or email csmith@pincincinnati.org.

Thank You Notes Keep Pouring In

At Pets In Need of Greater Cincinnati, we are constantly reminded of the impact we have on the lives of pets and their families. Every day, we receive heartfelt messages of gratitude from our community. Last week, Arista came in to visit and shared her immense appreciation for the support she has received for her 12-year-old feral cat, Tom.

I would like to thank three organizations in the Greater Cincinnati Area that literally saved my 12-year-old feral cat’s life—Tom, Cincinnati Animal Care, Community Cat Network, and Pets In Need. They immediately came through for Tom. Dr. Zekoff and his staff knocked everything out of the ballpark. Tom had three teeth extracted and received all his vaccinations. I am beyond grateful for all the love and support from all these agencies and have shed tears of joy because Tom is back on his feet. I am forever grateful and will never stop telling good news about the organization.”
