June 1, 2017

From the Desk of the Director

Our library staff was out and about in the month of May! We took our LEAP into Science learning tools on the road. Did you see us at the Butz Elementary STEM night, Science Fest, or at the Intermediate Carnival Night? We had fun sharing our learning apparatuses with the community.  The photo to the left shows Ms. Catherine assisting a student with our catapult experiment at the Bushkill Science Fest.  We also hosted all of the Kindergartners from Shaffer Elementary School and the 4th graders from Butz Elementary School for a library tour and story time at the library this month.

In addition to our outreach programming, I had the opportunity to speak to parents at the Intermediate Unit 20 literacy night and the Nazareth Red Hat Society.  It was wonderful talking to the members of our community and about all the wonderful things going on at the library. Boy, June is going to be fun!

This month
I also had an opportunity to talk with Lillianna Kupec and her family. Lillianna is a Girl Scout in our community (pictured to the right).  Lillianna stopped by the library to deliver a donation of over $18 in change that she raised to benefit library services.  Lilianna was working with her Girl Scout troop and she decided that she wanted to help our community library. The entire library staff is so proud of Lillianna and appreciate her thoughtful gesture.

It is the mission of the Library Staff and the Library Board of Directors that the Nazareth Library is represented in the community at schools, in businesses, and at community events.  Look for us around town this summer. We are anxious to talk to you and learn more about how we can better serve the community.

See you at the library...or around town!
