St. Luke's Episcopal School Is Growing

When you think about what St. Luke's Episcopal School in Martel Haiti has done in the past few years, in partnership with the New York Haiti Project, it is remarkable. The school opened in 2017 in a dirt floor building made of 2x4's and sheet metal. There were 25 students grades kindergarten to 2nd grade. See the photo below.

This coming fall the school will to grow to over 230 students. We are adding 9th grade. We have three buildings that have already survived two significant earthquakes and several tropical storms. The school has been a sanctuary for children fleeing the violence in the capital this past March.

Father Phanord and the school leaders, Madame Nelson and Moïse Vilmeney, have kept the school open during civil unrest, gang violence and food shortages.

We need your help to finish the four classroom building, pictured below, in order to be ready for the incoming students. Classes start September 2nd. We can do it!

Fr. Phanord tell us there are 23 new kindergarten students entering school, and this new building will be set apart for them.

Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 before August 15th.
