Staycation? Vacation? Or... Evacuation?
PLANNING TO KEEP YOUR ANIMALS SAFE
Hello to everyone in our HALTER Project Community!
It’s August, and there’s a lot to talk and think about in this edition of HALTER Project NewsNotes!

Before we launch into news, we first want to take a few moments to acknowledge all those who have been impacted by recent and ongoing tragedies, fires, floods and storms.

In the wake of every incident, there are service animals working alongside responders, in challenging, horrific conditions. We are filled with gratitude for the Search Dogs and their handlers, and the US Forest Service Mule Teams supporting back-country fire crews, and the veterinary teams who support these tough animals.

Thank you is never enough. If you would like to do a bit more, consider supporting The Search Dog Foundation, or, UC Davis Veterinary Emergency Response Team.

WANNA BE A CART VOLUNTEER?
To find out how to be a Community Animal Response Team (CART) volunteer,
go to your local CART or County Animal Services volunteer web page.
In the CA North Bay, we are fortunate to have CARTs in Solano, Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, and Lake Counties, along with NVADG in Butte County.
CARTs need you!
There’s a job for every skill and level of ability.
ONE FINAL THOUGHT
Please: Help our responders by preparing your home, your animals, and yourselves. Evacuate early! And help others who lack the resources or ability to do the same.
Thank you, as always, for being part of The HALTER Project community.
