"No one who sets a hand to the plow
and looks to what was left behind
is fit for the kingdom of God."

Sunday's Readings:
First Reading — The LORD tells Elijah to anoint Elisha as prophet to succeed him (1 Kings 19:16b, 19-21).
Psalm — You are my inheritance, O Lord (Psalm 16).
Second Reading — Use your freedom in Christ to serve one another through love (Galatians 5:1, 13-18).
Gospel — While journeying to Jerusalem, Jesus speaks of the costs of discipleship (Luke 9:51-62).

In Sunday’s first reading, God tells the prophet Elijah to prepare Elisha to succeed him. Succeeding Elijah will be no easy task; he has spent his life facing threats from the kings he has confronted about their infidelity to the God of Israel. The psalm illustrates the emotional and spiritual distress that the prophets’ steadfast faithfulness to God brought them. Paul’s description of the Christian’s freedom from the law as opposed to “the desire of the flesh” puts this struggle at the very heart of Christian identity. The reading from Luke’s Gospel recounts Jesus’ decision to journey toward Jerusalem, where he knows he will meet his earthly fate.
Following Jesus—like succeeding Elijah as prophet—will now become more difficult. Unlike his calls to the first disciples, Jesus encounters those who are not ready or are not strong enough to journey with him.

At Fatima, Our Lady asked us to go to confession, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary and keep her company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary. If we do this on the First Saturday of five consecutive months, Our Blessed Mother has promised to assist with all the graces necessary for salvation at the hour of death.
We know Sunday is the day we set aside for Our Lord, but do you have an hour on the First Saturday of the month to spend with His Mother, Our Blessed Mother? Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament has begun First Saturday Devotions again immediately following Mass at QR on the first Saturday of the month. We're looking for Ministry Groups to take turns leading the Rosary and providing fellowship (breakfast light bites and maybe some coffee) on the First Saturday of each month.

Saturday, July 3rd is First Saturday. The Rosary will be led by Mrs. Uhlarik and begins immediately following daily Mass at Queen of the Rosary.

June marks the birth of our spiritually-adoptive baby, and this Sunday marks the conclusion of our 2022 Season for Life! Since Mother's Day, we have been spotlighting organizations that support a culture of life, and for the past nine months, we have been praying that God will spare the life of an unborn child and that their parents will choose life for them.
Please join us this Sunday, June 26th, immediately following the 10:30am Mass at Queen of the Rosary for our Spiritual Adoption Baby Shower (bring the whole family). This will be one more opportunity to support crisis pregnancy centers in our area with monetary donations or gifts from their Wish List (scroll down to Donation Wish List) as we close out the 2022 Season for Life. Thank you for your generosity.
And like any good Baby Shower, we'll enjoy fellowship and treats too!

Thank you again for all you do to continue our parish meal outreach for the hungry. Our next Supper will be Thursday, July 7th and we'll be serving a hearty summer cold plate of chicken salad, fruit and cottage cheese.

From Totus Tuus Summer Camp to Catholic Heart Work Camp and our Corpus Christi Procession, last week was a wonderful demonstration of faith, fellowship and FUN at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament.
We were so pleased to welcome 66 young people between 1st and 12th grade for Totus Tuus Summer Camp all last week. At the 5pm Mass 8 teens, Mr. Van and the adult chaperones heading off to Catholic Heart Work Camp brought up the gifts and received a special blessing from Fr. Louis and the community. And capping off this exciting week, we had more than 60 parishioners of all ages join us for the procession from Queen of the Rosary to St. Julian in celebration of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ last Sunday.
