LaAmistad's award winning after school program is pleased to announce the receipt of additional funding that will allow the organization to continue to expand to areas outside of its current sites. In the next year, LaAmistad hopes to grow from its current four after school sites to an additional four sites in the year 2015. In 2016, it also hopes to once again double it success by adding four more sites which would result in a total of 12 programs. Sites will be located in Cobb, Dekalb, Fulton and Gwinnett Counties.
What started as a helping hand has turned into a multi-dimensional organization serving our neighbors and strengthening communities.
"As a long-time volunteer for LaAmistad, I have witnessed entire families transformed from being disorganized into well-run, functional families," said Harriet Swenness, a volunteer with over 10 years of service. "LaAmistad serves the child as well as the family; it also transforms those who volunteer! Expanding this program will benefit more of Georgia's communities."
