Feature Stories
Volunteering with One Tent Health, a nonprofit organization founded by two Georgetown alumni, gives undergraduate students interested in medicine a way to gain clinical experience by providing free rapid HIV screenings, COVID tests and more.
Georgetown has more than doubled its tuition benefits for military-connected students, an expansion that will cover the annual cost of full-time undergraduate tuition for eligible students. The university will expand its benefits in the Yellow Ribbon Program (YRP), an agreement between higher education institutions and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs that funds portions of tuition and fees that aren’t covered by the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
As a regular feature in GUMC Update, we highlight members of our staff/AAP — all critical to our mission. Today, meet Sumaira Akber, assistant dean in the School of Health.
