Student retention is a priority for Idaho State University. Education has the power to transform lives, and it is our mission to create the opportunity for that transformation by supporting student success. To this end, the University has invested in a powerful tool, the EAB Navigate platform, to help us identify support gaps and reach out proactively to students before they reach a critical impasse in their academic journey.
EAB is an industry leader in student success that currently works with more than 500 postsecondary institutions, and dozens of state institutions that are much like Idaho State. Navigate provides predictive analytics and early interventions for students, linking administrators, advisors, deans, faculty, other staff, and students through a single platform designed to allow for the proactive management of student success. With a click of a button, faculty will be able to notify an intervention team about students who need immediate assistance. Using the same platform, students will be able to gather information, tap into resources, and communicate with academic advisors and faculty.
The ISU Navigate development team has been working with EAB technicians and University partners to lay the foundation for our pilot launch of this platform, anticipated for August 2021. The Colleges of Business and Technology, units in the Athletics Department, and the Career Center will participate in the pilot. Over the coming months, the development team will be meeting with additional college and department representatives to begin planning for the next phase in the implementation of this valuable retention resource. In the meantime, your questions are welcome. Please direct them to navigate@isu.edu.
