At the Seventh Annual George M. Kober Research Day, School of Medicine students gave poster presentations in a setting similar to a professional conference, preparing them for careers as good investigators and clinicians.

In addition to poster presentations by 80 students from Georgetown and other area universities this year, developmental biologist Maria Jasin, PhD, gave a keynote speech at Undergraduate Research Day.

More than 670 women attended this year's Women & Wine and raised over $630,000 for the Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research. Angela Ertlschweiger encouraged attendees to stay on top of their mammograms and live their lives to the fullest.

A team of Georgetown researchers has been awarded a $2 million grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop a data-sharing tool for U.S. public health agencies and departments to improve the National HIV Surveillance System.

Recognizing the pivotal role she played in making the human sexuality course at the School of Medicine more inclusive, the Hoya MedAlliance recently honored Andrea Singer, MD, with the Faculty Lambda Award.
