In a paper at The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, Richard A. Cerione et al. "highlight recent advances in the development of structural techniques that are capable of probing dynamic information about protein targets," 1 which are important in structure-based drug design (SBDD).
The techniques discussed are X-ray crystallography including serial room-temperature crystallography, cryogenic electron microscopy (cryoEM) and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS).

APS Upgrade Shutdown - Alternative Beamlines
|
Are you a user of the APS (Advanced Photon Source) beamlines? As you know the beamlines at APS will be shutdown for an entire year to make way for upgrades. We can help you find an alternative beamline for your research as well as get you equipped to conduct your research there. Reach out to us and let us help you get up and running at an alternative beamline.
MiTeGen Generation 2.0 Cryo-EM Pucks
|
Have you tried our pucks for cryo-EM yet? Our generation 2.0 cryo-EM pucks allow you to organize, track, and ship your samples on grids for single particle analysis and other Cryogenic Electron Microscopy applications.
Our pucks have many ease of use features such as 12 well locations per puck, a clear affixed lid that rotates for grid box insertion, they accept all round cryo-EM grid storage boxes and much more!
And, our pucks are accepted and in use at many cryo-EM facilities worldwide.

Marilyn M. Olmstead Inorganic Chemistry Research Fund
|
The Marilyn M. Olmstead Inorganic Chemistry Graduate Research Fund needs $20,000 to achieve its funding goal. Fortunately, a generous donor has recently pledged to match all gifts dollar for dollar up to a total of $30,000 through December 31, 2022. So, now is a great opportunity to make a donation.
Protein Crystallography Starter Kit
|
Did you know we offer a Protein Crystallography Starter Kit which is an ideal training tool for new students and technicians as well as for workshops and summer schools?
It has everything you need to mount and collect X-ray data from your crystals at both room temperature and at cryo temperatures and can be customized to your specific needs.

At MiTeGen, we sponsor numerous events, conferences, workshops and symposiums throughout the year. These events include fields such as structural biology, crystallography, cryo-EM, beamline research and more. We believe in supporting researchers and our industry. Listed below are two upcoming events you might find interesting.
The CCP4/BGU workshop on data collection and structure determination is Feb. 26th to March 1st. Designed for students, postdocs and/or researchers with some previous expertise in crystallography who need a deeper insight into the most advanced structural biology techniques to carry out their research projects. We are sponsoring the workshop.
Hot Topics in Contemporary Crystallography 5 (HTCC5) workshop is April 16th to the 21st. It brings together leading experts and motivated young scientists in crystallography and related fields as “students” and who are interested in acquiring new knowledge on the cutting-edge methods in structural science and exploring ways to apply them in their ongoing research. We are sponsoring this workshop.
Looking For More Events, Workshops and Conferences
|
If you are looking for more events visit our events page. It lists conferences, workshops, symposiums, user meetings and more.
Topics include structural biology, material science, crystallography, cryo-EM, beamline research and more.
