Valhallas in Key West

The Valhalla fleet made a strong showing once again in this year’s Viking Key West Challenge, presented by Christi Insurance Group and Travelers Insurance. Last week we recapped their impressive results on the leaderboard. (Two of the top four boats were Valhallas!) This time, we focus on the beautiful boats, showcasing the V Series center consoles from 41 to 55 that participated in the 10th annual event. Above: The Stars and Stripes Blue V-41 Papa’s Pilar, which took 2nd Place Overall and Heaviest Wahoo.

All of the Valhallas featured custom towers from Palm Beach Towers (PBT) and electronics packages from Atlantic Marine Electronics. These two Viking subsidiaries contribute to our ability to personalize your V Series center console and deliver it turnkey-ready. Above: The V-55 Wingman II is equipped with a PBT gap tower, features a faux teak transom and is powered by quad Mercury Verado 600s. Fishing the tournament for the first time, Bill Johnson and his team also brought their Viking 80 Sky Bridge, Wingman.

The V-46 Trust Fun is a gorgeous Snow White Valhalla 46 with a custom PBT gap tower and a trio of Mercury 600s. “This is our third Key West Challenge and they just keep getting better and better,” says owner Jonathan Guarisco.

The V-41 Salt Shaker is outfitted with a PBT marlin tower. Four 400-hp Mercury V10 Verados power this black beauty.

The V Series delivers the smoothest and driest ride of any center console on the water, as evidenced by the V-41 Badfish (above) and the V-46 Miss Victoria (below) slicing through the chop on their way back to the Spot Zero Weigh Station.

The power choices on the Valhallas in Key West were either triple or quad configurations of Mercury outboards, with some owners matching the cowlings to their hull colors. Miss Victoria is a highly personalized Valhalla, with shades of grey and black throughout.
