Congratulations to Peter and Hank, Married at Frog Meadow's apple orchard on Wednesday October 11!
Frog Meadow's Reverend Scott was busy on October 11th officiating at the wedding of Peter and Hank. It was a lovely, quiet fall afternoon and the recently picked out apple orchard was the site of the festivities.
Peter and Hank have been a couple for 40 years, having met in Hawaii at a local park. Hank says he knew that Peter "was the one" within 10 minutes of their meeting. Peter notes that he was "won over with flowers and teddy bears.
Following the ceremony where they wore traditional seed leis from Hawaii, a glass of Frog Meadow's freshly pressed sweet apple cider was shared

After a courtship that included flowers and teddy bears, Hank (L) and Peter (R) have been together for 40 years. They've lived in Hawaii, Las Vegas, and recently moved to Massachusetts. It was wonderful to host their special day at Frog Meadow!
between the two from a single glass, symbolizing the joining together of their two spirits into one. The day wrapped up with Dinner at Brattleboro's fabulous Peter Havens Restaurant, followed by Carrot Cake and Champagne shared with guests at Frog Meadow. A splendid time was had by all!

Grace Cottage Hospital Recognized as Major LGBTQ+ Ally,
Frog Meadow owners recognized for role in creation of Health Equity Team

In a recent news article in the Brattleboro Reformer, it was noted that Vermont - and the nation's - smallest acute care independent hospital has been recognized as a "Top Performer" by the Human Rights Campaign's Health Equity Index and a Major Ally to the LGBTQ+ Community.
Additionally, the article recognizes Frog Meadow's Scott and Dave for their role in the creation of Grace Cottage's Health Equity Team that has helped to drive these initiatives within the organization.
When former guests buy property locally, Scott & Dave get asked for recommendations, and advise on people to hire for plumbing and electrical work. When the question came up with respect to health care, they decided

to approach Grace Cottage. Heller said they essentially told hospital officials that "if you build it [an LGBTQ+ focused health practice], they will come." And they did!
Grace Cottage Hospital's LGBTQ+ focused care includes confidential referrals for gender-affirming surgeries, confidential referrals to endocrinology,
contraception, counseling and psychiatric services, hormone therapy, LGBTQ+ focused alcohol and substance use treatment, HIV treatment, and routine sex-transmitted infection testing and counseling.

Your Happy Place: The Wood-Fired Hot Tub! | |

Frog Meadow’s 750-gallon wood-fired hot tub is heated to approximately 102-104 degrees. The tub is constructed of aromatic white cedar from Maine, and is warmed by hardwood logs harvested from Frog Meadow’s surrounding forests.
The tub’s built-in wood stove emits a distinctive “mini campfire” aroma which you'll notice when you arrive at Frog Meadow.

There are no noisy jets, just 48-inches deep, soothing warm water so you can sit fully upright and relax among the peace and quiet.
Frog Meadow’s hot tub is the ideal way to relax, release muscle aches, stiffness, pains and renew your body and soul after a workout, a hike, or a trip to nearby Rock River. It’s also a great way to unwind immediately before or after a massage with Dave.

Some of our guests make it a habit to take a soak immediately before bedtime & some of our guests enjoy “taking the waters” with a morning cup of coffee first thing in the morning!
The hot tub is located on the west side of the Main House, surrounded by stonework, annual and perennial gardens and has wonderful late day sunlight.

The nearby Hospitality Cabana is where you’ll find towels for use with the hot tub & swimming pond, as well as a fridge/freezer with icemaker (for guest snacks and beverages), bottle filling station and barware.
Typically at the end of most days the patio area by the hot tub is where guests gather for an informal happy hour, hot tub soak, snacks and to catch up on the day’s events prior to heading out together or separately for evening meal.
Immediately next to the hot tub is a handmade, copper hot-and-cold outdoor shower with an oversize shower head that is perfect for rinsing off before & after your soak. The outdoor shower is stocked with our signature Frog Meadow soaps, shampoos and moisturizing bodycare products for you to sample and enjoy!

"Amazing, Therapeutic and Relaxing Experience"
This is a beautiful trip from wherever you come from, green everywhere. The property is cozy and welcoming, the main house has everything you need for a long weekend.
The trails make you feel you are in the middle of nowhere and you go back to the beautiful property grounds to relax. An amazing great clear pond, the hot tub is just perfect and it is the center of the house, and the views to the gardens and mountains are superb.
Scott and Dave are very sweet and make you feel at home. Great breakfast and options for food and any supplies you need are 3-5 miles away. My recommendation is to get your supplies (wine 🙂 before you go and just rest and enjoy the peace of FMF.
We also have the opportunity to meet great people. The staff (Jay and Ben) are great and always willing to assist you.
Something important to me was the WIFI and it works awesome (in case you need to work), lastly was Dave’s massage, amazing, therapeutic and relaxing experience.
I will absolutely come back!
