MEG: GENERATIONS - Something Special
As many of you know, I am founder and director of Adopt-an-Author, a non-profit program that motivates teens to read using fun books like MEG, combined with interactive curriculum between authors and students. Since its inception back in 1999, we now have over 10,000 registered teachers and tens of thousands of students who might never have finished a book if not for the FREE program. With more than 30 school superintendents now requesting materials, this coming school year could be huge... and I don't want to turn anyone away.

The school year begins in 30-45 days. Thanks to a few generous donations, I'm estimating we need to sell about 500 20th anniversary hardbacks to cover the fall wave of registrations. (There are about 800 hardbacks left.)

MEG: GENERATIONS will be published a few months before the movie hits theaters and it will most likely end the series... with a bang! To honor my dedicated MEGheads, I was going to offer something really special and unheard of - a section of the book following the last chapter where you could write something... a final thought, a dedication to a family member...whatever you wanted. It's a blurb for posterity - but it's all yours. I was going to wait until December to offer it, but the AAA program needs it now, so...

WRITING COACH PROGRAM: Launching new writers
Over the last 12 years I've worked with individuals who had a great idea for a book but lacked the experience and skills to turn it into a sell-able finished manuscript. All new writers experience this - I had to hire my own writing coach after finishing the first draft of the manuscript that would become MEG. Was the $6,000 investment worth it? Fifteen books and a movie deal later, I'd say yes.

If you feel you have what it takes but need help, then I'm offering my services to ONE candidate (we filed the other spot last month.) We'll develop your story, create a beat sheet, then I'll edit your work, making sure the writing is tight. When the manuscript is finished I'll help you find an agent and publisher. Cost of the program: $3,599.

The catch: I need to spend an hour on the phone with each potential candidate, brainstorming your idea while deciding if you are coach-able. The call is free, but it's important as we could be working together for a year or more.

If you have the desire, an idea, and the necessary funds email me a one paragraph synopsis at Meg82159@aol.com SUBJECT: Writing Coach Submission.

Joke of the Month:
A guy stuck his head into a barbershop and asked, "How long before I can get a haircut?" The barber looked around the shop full of customers and said, "About 2 hours." The guy left. A few days later, the same guy stuck his head in the door and asked, "How long before I can get a haircut?" The barber looked around at the shop and said, "About 3 hours." The guy left. A week later, the same guy stuck his head in the shop and asked, "How long before I can get a haircut?" The barber looked around the shop and said, "About an hour and a half." The guy left. The barber turned to his friend and said, "Hey, Bob, do me a favor, follow him and see where he goes. He keeps asking how long he has to wait for a haircut, but he never comes back." A little while later, Bob returned to the shop. The barber asked, "So, where does he go when he leaves?" Bob looked up, wiped the tears from his eyes and said, "Your house!"

Recipe of the Month: Chocolate Chia Pudding
Ingredients:
1/4 cup - Cocoa Love (sweetened cocoa powder)
Organic Cacao Nibs
2 Avocados
1/2 cup - Organic Chia Seeds
4 tablespoons - Organic Raw Honey
A pinch - Himalayan Salt
3 tablespoons - Organic plain yogurt
1 teaspoon - Vanilla
3 cups - Milk (whichever type you prefer, I prefer flax milk or homemade almond milk).

Instructions:
Simply whisk three cups of milk together with honey, salt, vanilla and chia seeds and let them chill for at least 4 hours (the more, the better -- I prefer to soak them overnight). Next, blend the avocados with the Sweetened Cocoa Powder, yogurt, ½ cup of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until smooth. Layer each mixture in a serving bowl, sprinkle some Organic Cacao Nibs and enjoy the amazing taste and the velvety texture.

Get most of these ingredients at the all new Health Ranger Store, where everything we sell is laboratory tested.
