Dear Friends,    

Maya Angelou wrote... "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." 

And, YOU ALL make me feel so blessed, wonderfully blessed, tremendously blessed. It has been a joy to have the opportunity to minister at Birmingham and Berkley First. Each of you has lifted, supported, and allowed me the privilege of hearing your stories. We have prayed together and have shared Holy Communion. You have invited me to some of the most intimate and difficult experiences of your lives, and I have felt more blessed for your trust and friendship.

It is said that the only constant is change. It is time for me to say thank you for all the memories. Each of you has touched my heart in special ways. We have laughed, cried, shared meals, 'long' coffees, and wonderful conversation.

Thank you! My last day was Dec. 25. Your friendship has been a precious gift. May our God of love and mercy continue to shower blessings of joy, peace, and hope to you and your families.

Sunday Social is this Sunday, January 28. We will meet in Thomas Parlor from 12:15 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. for a hot lunch and fellowship with our Birmingham and Berkley First friends. We know the weather isn't optimal for walking a 5k, that's why we are inviting you to walk with us at the CLC Walking Track.

Join us for a casual stroll at the CLC Walking Track. The track is open for you to achieve your 5k milestone.

You are warmly invited to join the United Women in Faith for a delightful Ash Wednesday brunch on February 14, immediately following the 10 a.m. service. The gathering will take place in Fellowship Hall, providing a perfect opportunity for spiritual connection over a shared meal. Versiti Blood Center of Michigan supplies over 75% of the blood products across SE Michigan, yet less than 15% is collected within the same communities. As the local blood provider, it’s critical that we have stabile and consistent inventory - usually a 3-5 day supply. Due to holidays and winter weather, we are experiencing less than 2 day supply of many blood types and continued cancelations of school blood drives due to the weather will impact patient care quickly. Our Guest Speaker for the evening will be Rev. Dr. Jack Harnish who will share an uplifting message of hope and grace. This evening will nourish the body and soul.

Join in for a free Community Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, hosted by Berkley First along with Birmingham First. The hunt kicks off at 10:00 a.m. sharp, with three designated areas for different age groups. Don't forget your Easter Basket! Arrive at 9:30 a.m. or stay after to indulge in warm donuts from the food truck, enjoy live music, and capture timeless moments with the Easter Bunny – so remember to bring your cameras!

SAVE THESE DATES - VBS Volunteers with your help, every summer we offer a fun learning experience for children by providing bible adventures, key Bible verses, songs, snacks, and hands-on explorations. Please mark your calendars for Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21 to help make VBS 2024 a success. More craft nights and decorating dates will be announced soon!
